    The Minister for Railways, Shri Nitish Kumar, released the Report of the Rakesh Mohan Committee, here today. It has been published by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER). The Minister said that a high-level Committee of officers under the Additional Member (Planning), Railway Board, has been appointed by the Railway Ministry to examine the recommendations and submit their views. The Committee’s recommendations will be finalised after extensive consultations with the Zonal Railways, Production Units and the Railwaymen's Federations. The Ministry of Railways will consider these recommendations after the Report is available.

    Shri Nitish Kumar thanked Dr. Rakesh Mohan and the Members of the Group for their deep study of the organisation and their recommendations.

    The Chairman, Railway Board, Shri R.N. Malhotra, other Board Members, senior officials of the Railways and Federation officials were present on the occasion.
