METAL PRODUCTION DURING THIRD QUARTER IN NALCO EXCEEDS TARGET

Bauxite production during 3rd quarter has been 10,26,203 MT exceeding the target of 9,30,000 MT. The cumulative production has been 23,30,250 MT against the target of 24,90,000 MT.. The quarterly and cumulative production have been 31,17% & 21.93% more compared to the same period of last year respectively.

Calcined Alumina production during 3rd quarter has been 2,70,600 MT exceeding the target of 2,65,000 MT. The cumulative production has been 7,88,500 MT exceeding the target of 7,80,000 MT. The quarterly production has been 10.04% more and the cumulative production has been 15.04% more compared to the performance for the same period of last year.

The average number of pots during the quarter has been 479.33 pots as compared to 478.5 pots of last quarter. The export quality pots at the end of quarter has been 403 nos. as compared to 402 pots at the end of last quarter.

The cast metal production during the quarter has been 58,384 MT exceeding the target of 57,900 MT. The cumulative production of 1,73,796 MT has also exceeded the target of 1,73,100 MT. As compared to the performance for the same period of last year, the quarterly production has been 1.76% more and the cumulative production has been 1.89% more.

Net power generation during the quarter has been 1068.90 MU exceeding the target of 1033.40 MU. The cumulative generation has been 2870.37 MU against target of 3088.40 MU. The quarterly generation have been 7.95% more compared to the same period of last year. The cumulative generation was less mainly due to restriction imposed by MCL on coal supply to NALCO and higher grid frequency.

The Alumina export during the quarter was 1,98,024 MT exceeding the target of 1,44,000 MT bringing cumulative export to 4,74,148 MT exceeding the target of 4,20,000 MT. The export of alumina for the quarter & up to the quarter has been 42.21% & 39.90% more respectively compared to the same period of last year.

During the quarter, 30,766 MT of metal was exported against the target of 32,990 MT. The cumulative export has been 66,839 MT against the target of 93,320 MT. The shortfall in export is mainly due to increase in domestic demand for which the metal export was reduced to meet the domestic market.

During the quarter domestic sale of metal was 26,133 MT exceeding the target of 25,200 MT. The cumulative domestic sale has been 94,313 MT exceeding the target of 80,250 MT.
