Dr. VALLABHBHAI KATHIRIA INAUGURATES ENGIMACH-2002

        The Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria inaugurated "Engimach-2002" exhibition today in Ahmedabad. He said the exhibition of Engineering, Machinery and Machine tools, ENGIMACH is one of the largest platforms for national and international manufacturers and users to get to know each other. The exhibition, fourth of its kind in India, will provide direct access to the global market and will offer facilities not only for exhibits and displays but also for joint ventures, collaborations, business communication, publicity and liaison with the government.

        Dr. Kathiria said that in this era of globalisation and liberalisation Indian entrepreneurs/industries/business will have to adopt new technology and create new mindsets.

        Dr. Kathiria said that a permanent exhibition site, on the lines of the Pragati Maidan in Delhi, is to be set up in Gujarat. He said that central government is also considering setting up an Indian Institute of Polymers in Gujarat to give boost to polymer productions and petrochemical industry in the state. He said that after the Gujarat earthquake, the central government is also considering for starting an Institute of Seismology in Gujarat.
