WE SHOULD FULLY DISCOVER OUR RICH CULTURAL SPLENDOUR - SHEKHAWAT


Vice President, Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat said that we have yet to fully fathom the rich cultural splendour of India and this is the reason why we are lagging behind and our society is beset with many problems. Shri Shekhawat was releasing today a rare 15th century Sanskrit Commentary, Prabhugeeta on the Vachanas of Allama Prabhu, a mystic poet in Karnataka. On this occasion, the former Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Justice Ranganath Mishra was also present. Shri Shekhawat said, in this book, Shunya has been equated with truth and truth has been equated with Shiva. We also feel a glimpse of unity in diversity while going through the book. Shri Shekhawat also said that we have rare manuscript on the palm leaves but unfortunately, due to paucity of funds, we are not able to preserve them. We have not been able also to provide the proper transcription and translation of the manuscript.

He also said that we should have followed the real teaching of Vedas to ward off the social malpractices like child marriage, sati, untouchability and other social evils. In this connection, he also referred to Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati who was votary of true import of Vedas.

On this occasion, former Chief Justice of India, Justice Ranganath Mishra also expressed his views.
