SENIOR LEVEL APPOINTMENTS

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments: -

1. Shri Wajahat Habibullah, IAS(JK:68), presently Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), as Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution vice Shri S.Bandopadhyay superannuating on 31.12.2002.
2. Shri S.K.Tuteja, IAS(PB:68), presently Secretary, Department of Official Languages in the Ministry of Home Affairs, as Secretary, Ministry of Small Scale Industries and Agro and Rural Industries vice Shri Ashok Pradhan, superannuating on 31.12.2002.
3. Shri R.C.A. Jain, IAS(BH:68), presently Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, as Secretary (Border Management) in the same Ministry by re-designating the post of Special Secretary currently held by him, as a measure personal to him. He will also continue to look after such work as is assigned to him at present.
4. Shri G.R.Patwardhan, IAS(BH:68), presently Special Secretary in the Department of Health, as Secretary, Department of Official Languages in the Ministry of Home Affairs, vice Shri S.K.Tuteja.
5. Shri Mohan Kanda, IAS(AP:68), presently Special Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, as Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation in the Ministry of Agriculture vice Shri J.N.L.Srivastva, superannuating on 31.12.2002.
6. Shri S. Nautiyal, IAS(OR:68), presently Chairman, Food Cooperation of India, as Chairman, National Highways Authority of India in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India vice Shri Deepak Dasgupta, superannuating on 31.12.2002.
7. Shri A.M.Gokhale, IAS(NL:68), presently Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests, as Chairman, Food Corporation of India in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India vice Shri S.Nautiyal.
8. Shri Binod Kumar, IAS(NL:70), presently Special Director, LBSNAA in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, as Director, LBSNAA vicre Shri Wajahat Habibullah.
9. Ms. P.Jyot Rao, IAS(UL:70), presently on leave from the post of Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation in the Ministry of Agriculture, as Additional Secretary in the Department of Health vice Shri G.R.Patwardhan.
10. Ms. Meena Gupta, IAS(OR:71), presently in her cadre, as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests vice Shri A.M.Gokhale.
11. Shri Ajay K. Dua, IAS(MH:71), presently in his cadre, as Director General, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
12. Shri Kanwar Pratap Singh, IAS(KN:71), presently Joint Secretary, Department of Defence Production and Supplies, as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, against a newly created post.
