The Ministry of Rural
Development has released Rs. 436.945 lakh under Indira Awaas Yojana
(IAY) for rural housing to four districts of Chhattisgarh.
The districts are
Baster (Rs. 268.110 lakh), Korba (Rs. 39.990 lakh), Koriya (Rs.23.110
lakh) and Surguja (Rs.105.735 lakh). The amount is the second
installment for the year 2002-03 for these districts.
The expenditure on
the implementation of the programme is to be shared on 75:25 basis
between the Centre and the State respectively. The grants are
towards the Plan expenditure and will be utilized for approved
items of works subject to the conditions laid down in the guidelines
under Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY). The concerned State Governments
should release their share within one month of the date of release
of the Central assistance.
