On the request of
Election Commission of India, the delimitation work in respect
of the State of Himachal Pradesh would be taken up by the Delimitation
Commission and finalized after the completion of the general elections
to the Legislative Assembly of that State in February, 2003. Therefore,
the question of reservation/de-reservation of constituencies in
the State of Himachal Pradesh before the general elections does
not arise.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Coal, Mines , Law and Justice,
Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad in a written reply to a question from
S/Shri Maheshwar Singh and Suresh Chandel in the Lok Sabha today.
