Tripura and Bangladesh is planned to be completed in a phased
manner by 2007. He said presently, there are no plans to induct
additional Army troops for counter insurgency operations in Tripura,
as the existing Army/Assam Rifles force levels involved in combating
insurgency in the State is considered adequate. The situation
is constantly being monitored and requisite steps, including increment
of force levels, will be considered, should the circumstances
necessitate, he added.
