No separate amount
is sanctioned for acquiring of land. So far, approximately 4800
hectares of land have been acquired and National Highways Authority
of India has made available with Competent Authority Rs. 426 crore,
for the land acquired.
The price of the
land is fixed by Competent Authority/ Revenue Officer of the State
based on the market value and other factors as envisaged in Act.
In the State of Tamil
Nadu, land acquisition in a length of 41.8 km of National Highway-5
is being made. The total area of land to be acquired in this stretch
is 81.402 acres.
This information
was given by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Road
Transport and Highways, Major General B.C. Khanduri, AVSM (Retd.)
in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
