ORDNANCE FACTORY AT NALANDA


LOK SABHA

The foundation stone of an Ordnance Factory laid at Rajgir in Nalanda district of Bihar on April 14, 1999. About 2650 acres of land has been acquired and construction work at the site is in progress. An expenditure of Rs. 60.87 crore has been incurred towards acquisition of land. Rs. 9.46 crore have been released to Government of Bihar for rehabilitation of displaced persons. The expenditure incurred on construction work so far in Rs. 3.80 crore. The factory is likely to become functional by November 2005.

This information was given by the Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes in a written reply to Shri Raghuraj Singh Shakya in Lok Sabha today.
