A four-member delegation
of the Kendriya Sainik Board led by its Secretary, Commodore Lokesh
K. Batra visited the Prime Minister’s residence and pinned a flag
on Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag
Day, here today. The Prime Minister made a token contribution
for the cause of the rehabilitation and settlement of ex-servicemen
and the rehabilitation of the families of those who sacrificed
their lives for the nation.
The Armed Forces Flag
Day is observed every year as an occasion for every citizen to
take pride in and express solidarity with the Armed Forces. The
contributions made to the Flag Day Fund are utilised by Sainik
Board for the benefit and empowerment of widows, disabled soldiers,
ex-servicemen and their dependents.
