The Advance Light
Helicopters (ALH) "Saat Dhruv" are working satisfactorily
in the three Defence services. The outlay of the ALH project as
approved by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Board is Rs. 57.46
crore towards capital outlay and Rs. 75.91 crore towards deferred
revenue expenditure. Nine Dhruv helicopters have so far been inducted
in the Defence Services and the Indian Coast Guard. During 2001-2002,
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited have delivered seven ALH. 11 ALH
are planned for delivery in 2002-2003.
The basic cost
of one Advance Light Helicopter for export is approximately US
$5.25 million. The cost will vary depending on the customer’s
requirement of role for the equipment.
To attract potential
customers, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Israel Aircraft Industries
are planning to jointly produce and exhibit an ALH demonstrator
to be flown during Aero India 2003.
This information

written replies to Shri Kamal Nath and Shri Chandrakant Khaire
in Lok Sabha today.
