INDO-US AIR FORCE JOINT EXERCISE AT AGRA


Indian Air Force (IAF) and US Air Force held joint exercises at Agra. The benefits which will accrue to IAF from these exercises would be promotion of mutual goodwill, understanding procedures of US Air Force, familiarisation with equipment available with US Air Force and learning from the capabilities and experience of US Air Force. The two exercises held at Agra were Ex Balance Iroquois and Ex Cope India. It would not be in the national interest to give details of number of Aircraft and Air Force personnel of both services, that took part in these joint exercises. It would be in the national interest to give details any such joint exercises planned for future.

This information was given by the Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes in a written reply to Shri Yadlapati Venkat Rao in Rajya Sabha today.
