SHIFTING OF INDUSTRIAL UNITS IN DELHI

LOK SABHA

The Delhi State Industrial Development Corporation and Government of NCT of Delhi have reported that they have made firm allotments of plots/flats to 16,410 eligible units, i.e. units which are eligible for relocation from non-conforming areas to industrial complexes at Narela, Badli, Jhilmil, Patparganj and Bawana. Infrastructure including roads, power, water and drainage works are in various stages of progress or have been completed. To facilitate the remaining 11,000 eligible applicants, the Delhi Development Authority and Government of NCT of Delhi have identified additional land measuring 1930 acres at Narela, Mundaka and Rohini Zones. Encumbrances and obstacles for acquisition of land are encroachments and non-availability of sufficient infrastructure. Various steps to identify and acquire land for relocation and for providing for infrastructure facilities are stated to have been taken by the Government of NCT of Delhi.

It is a fact that number of unauthorised colonies exist in rural areas in Delhi. The Government has filed guidelines for regularization of unauthorised colonies in Delhi, in the Delhi High Court in CWP No. 4771/93 – Common cause V/s Union of India. The Hon’ble High Court has directed the Union Government to notify the colonies which would be regularised in terms of the guidelines. However, the list of such colonies is awaited from Government of NCT of Delhi.
