NAIDU ASKS AJIT SINGH TO RELEASE
RS. 610 CRORE INTERIM RELIEF FOR DROUGHT-AFFECTED FARMER
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Shri Chandrababu
Naidu today met the Union Agriculture Minister, Shri Ajit Singh
and requested for release of Rs. 610.90 crore as interim relief
grant for tackling the drought in his State. He also asked for
10 lakh MT of rice under SGRY (special component) for the drought
affected people. Shri Ajit Singh told Shri Naidu that the central
team will soon visit Andhra Pradesh for assessing drought situation.
Shri Naidu also aksed for release of Rs. 16.53
crore for implementation of Andhra Pradesh Live Stock Development
Agency activities. Shri Ajit Singh said that the money would be
released soon. The Chief Minister also requested for release of
Australian buffaloes from quarantine station in Chennai, allotment
of import quota to AP State Trading Corporation for import of
75 thousand tonnes of garlic and settling of insurance claims
of cotton farmers of Adilabad district.
