URANIUM INDUSTRY
& SECURITY PAPER MILL, HOSHANGABAD TO CONTINUE AS PUBLIC
UTILITY SERVICE
The
Uranium Industry and the Security Paper Mill, Hoshangabad will
continue to be public utility service for another six months with
effect from 27th August, 2002 under the Industrial
Disputes Act, 1947. The Labour Ministry in separate notifications
issued here said that the extension for another six months has
been done in the public interest. The two establishments were
earlier declared as public utility service on February 27, 2002
for six months.
The
employees in these establishments would among other things be
required to give notice to their employers six weeks in advance
of proceeding on strike so that conciliatory proceedings could
be started. During the conciliatory proceedings and seven days
after their completion, the employees cannot go on strike in these
establishments.
