SIMPLE AND DAY-TO-DAY TALKED WORDS WILL POPULARISE HINDI - SHRI PRASAD

SUBSIDIARIES/SUBORDINATE OFFICES UNDER DEPARTMENT OF COAL AWARDED


To ensure progressive use of Hindi, it is essential that simple and day-to-day talked words are used. Use of natural words or sentences which are easily comprehensible can popularize Hindi. This was stated by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of State for Coal, Mines, Law & Justice while addressing the members of Hindi Consultative Committee of Ministry of Coal & Mines.

Shri Prasad said that all out efforts must be made to ensure progress of Hindi. The Minister said that all Departments and offices of Coal & Mines are implementing provisions of Rajbhasha. The department is fully computerized and facilities for doing work in Hindi have also been provided in the PCs. Besides the website of the Department has been prepared in bi-lingual form.

The Minister emphasised on the cent percent implementation of the provisions of Rajbhasha Act specially Section 3(3) of the Act. Also all subsidiaries and subordinate offices must ensure regular conduct of workshops for the progress of Hindi. Regular and adequate expenditure must be done on the purchase of Hindi books. Further all out efforts be made to fill the vacant posts. A specific mention must be made in the confidential reports of officers making extra efforts towards the progressive use of Hindi.

For awarding subsidiaries/subordinate offices, they were put in two lists i.e "K" "Kh" together and "G" separately. The awardees in 'K' and 'Kh' list are Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited, Ranchi - 1st Prize, South Eastern Coalfields Limited, Bilaspur - 2nd Prize and Northern Coalfields Limited, Singrauli, MP - 3rd Prize. In "G" list the awardees are Eastern Coalfields Limited, Burdwan - 1st Prize, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, Sambalpur - 2nd Prize and Coal Controller, Kolkata - 3rd Prize.
