FIXATION/REVISION OF PRICES OF BULK DRUGS SODIUM PENICILLIN G.
BENZATHINE PENICILLIN G AND PROCAINE PENICILLIN G UNDER DPCO,
1995
National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has
revised the price of bulk drugs Sodium Penicillin G from Rs.1094/BU
to Rs.1207/BU, Benzathine Penicillin G from Rs.2582/Kg. To Rs.2583/Kg.,
and Procaine Penicillin G from Rs.1318/BU to Rs.1397/BU vide notification
in the Gazette of India Extraordinary No. S.O.829 (E) dated 6th
August, 2002. The prices have been revised under the provisions
of Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 1995 after taking into consideration
the Review Order issued by the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals
under para 22 of the said order in the case of above drugs. These
Penicillin bulk derivatives are manufactured in the country by
M/s Alembic Ltd., M/s Hindustan Antibiotics Ltd. and M/s Wyeth
Lederle etc. The notification is available on the NPPA website
www.nppaindia.nic.in
The revised notified price shall become effective
within 15 days from the date of notification in the Official Gazette.
All the manufacturers of the formulations utilizing the drug in
their scheduled formulations are advised to follow the provisions
of Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 1995 with regard to pricing of
the derivative formulations.
