NCC DELEGATION RETURNS FROM UK
An National Cadet
Corps (NCC) cadet delegation comprising of twelve cadets (eight
boys and four girls) have returned back after participating in
the Youth Exchange Programme in the United Kingdom from Jul 16
to Jul 31, 2002.
NCC is having
an ongoing Youth Exchange Programme with UK since 1971. During
the present programme the cadets participated in the Air Force
Camp, Army Cadets Camp and Sea Cadets Corps Camp. Apart from the
above activities cadets also took part in various training events
such as Gliding, Canoeing, Rock Climbing and visited places of
topical, historical and tourist interest during their stay in
the United Kingdom.
The
cadets who have participated in this year’s programme in UK are
Sgt Mohan Shyam from Karnataka, SUO Aditya Vardhan Patak from
Maharastra Directorate, UO Roji Varghesee from Kerala Directorate,
Cdt S Aiyappa Vishwanath from Tamil Nadu Directorate, Sgt Preeti
Choudhary from Rajasthan Directorate, Sgt Aparna Deb & UOT
Rockson Meeti from North Eastern Region Directorate, CUO Prerna
Dubey from Madhya Pradesh Directorate, Cdt K Avinash Rao from
Delhi Directorate, Sgt Versha Mathew from Andhra Pradesh Directorate,
JUO Krutharth Patra from Orissa Directorate and Cdt Vipul Narayan
from Jammu & Kashmir Directorate.
The members of
the delegation called on Lt Gen BK Bopanna, Director General NCC
here today. Gen Bopanna welcomed them back and lauded their efforts
in bringing glory to the country.
