ENQUIRY INTO MODERNISATION OF RSP

The Government had ordered an enquiry into the alleged corruption in modernisation of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) involving nearly Rs.5000 crore. The Committee submitted its report on February 19, 2002. Ministry of Steel asked SAIL to furnish its comments on the conclusions arrived at by the Enquiry Committee and the feasibility of implementation of recommendations made by it. SAIL's comments on the Committee Report have been received recently and now is under Ministry's consideration.

This information was given by the Minister for Steel Shri B.K.Tripathy in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
