A microprocessor based fatigue meter for aircraft application is under development jointly by National Aerospace Laboratory (NAL), Bangalore and M/s Infotech Ltd. When installed the meter would measure the fatigue cycles and enable assessment of life utilized until the last flight. This instrument would be helpful in assessing the residual safe life of aircraft.

The estimated expenditure for development as reported by developing agencies would be around Rs 18 lakh.

The instrument will be considered for fitment on aircraft once the full scale development is completed which is likely to be around mid 2004.
