IMPORT OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS
LOK SABHA
Shri Ram Naik, Minister
of Petroleum & Natural Gas informed the Lok Sabha in a written
reply to a question today that imports of petroleum products are
limited to meet the gap between the requirement of specific products
and their domestic production. The country at present has surplus
refining capacity, he said.
The Minister
informed the House that the following are the details of petroleum
products imported during 2001-02 and estimates for 2002-03:
