DEALERSHIPS
UNDER OPERATION VIJAY SCHEME
The Union Government has made
allotment of 265 retail outlet dealerships and 164 LPG distributorships
under the Special Scheme for allotment of retail outlet dealerships
and LPG distributorships to the widows/next of kin of the Defence
personnel killed in action in 'OP Vijay' (Kargil), as on 31.3.2002.
This was stated byShri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State
for Petroleum & Natural Gas in a written reply to question in
the Rajya Sabha, today. Out of these allotments, 141 retail outlet
dealerships and 98 LPG distributorships respectively have been
commissioned upto this date. Shri Gangwar further informed that
commissioning of the remaining dealerships/distributorships is
held up because of factors like non-availability of land, requests
made by the allottees for change in location/product, non-receipt
of explosive licence, non-receipt of 'No Objection Certificate',
etc. Efforts are on to achieve commissioning of the remaining
cases as early as possible, he added.
