SECOND INSTALMENT OF ASSISTANCE FROM P.M.'S NATIONAL RELIEF FUND SACTIONED FOR GUJARAT VICTIMS

The Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has sanctioned a sum of Rs. 2 crores from the P.M.'s National Relief Fund as second instalment of assistance for the riot affected families living in various relief camps in Gujarat. The amount has been given through the Indian Red Cross Society. Earlier, an amount of Rs. 1 crore was released as the first instalment. In addition to this, an amount of Rs. 3.9 crores was also given as ex-gratia payment to the next of kin of those who died in the recent riots in Gujarat.
