Election Commission of India has not taken any decision to issue
Electronic Identity Cards to voters. The Electors Photo Identity
Cards being issued presently to electors under the instruction
of the Election Commission contain the photo of the elector and
particulars about the voter’s name, father’s or mother’s name,
sex, age as on January 1 of the year of issue of the card and
residential address as recorded in the electoral roll......................

1986-87 = 100) during March, 2002 increased by one point over
the previous month’s level to stand at 308 but for Rural Labourers
the index remained stationery at 311......................
