RS. 1 LAKH GRANT TO ANI CAMERAMAN

The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Shri Ramesh Bais, today gave away a cheque of Rs. 1 lakh to Shri Vikram Singh Bisht, Cameraman of ANI who was seriously injured in the terrorist attack on Parliament on December 13, 2001. The amount has been sanctioned by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry as grant from the newly created Journalist Welfare Fund.

Shri Bais visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences where Shri Bisht is admitted for treatment. Shri Bisht who was hit by a bullet, which could not be extracted, is paralysed below the waist. His lower limbs are not functioning.
