HIGH SECURITY REGISTRATION PLATES
It has come
to the notice of Central Government that some advertisements have
appeared in the newspapers inviting individuals to come forward
for being considered as franchise holders by the manufacturers/suppliers/vendors
of high security registration plates. It is hereby clarified for
the information of everyone that so far no high security registration
plate has yet been approved by any of the authorized testing agencies
of the Central Government.
All new vehicles
to be registered on and after 30th June 2002 shall
mandatorily be fitted with such plates. In case of vehicles registered
before 30th June 2002, a time period of two years from
30th June 2002 would be allowed to change over to the
new high security registration plates.
