DR. SATYANARAYAN JATIYA PARTICIPATES IN LORD MAHAVIR’S JANAM KALAYANAK MAHOTSAV IN LONDON

    The Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Dr. Satyanarayan Jatiya has expressed the hope that Lord Mahavira’s Janam Kalyanak Mahotsav will inspire the world community in achieving the goal of peace and non-violence. He was participating in Lord Mahavira’s Janam Kalyanak Mahotsav in London on April 11, 2002, organised by the Jain community living in Britain. Describing Lord Mahavira as a great apostle of non-violence, Dr. Jatiya said that his teachings are more relevant in today’s world which has been witnessing a lot of violence and terrorism. Several leading persons belonging to Jain community in U.K. participated in the function. Dr. Jatiya was on a day’s visit to London on his way back home after attending the World Assembly on Aged in Spanish Capital, Madrid as leader of the Indian delegation.

    Janam Kalyanak Mahotsav is being celebrated in India and abroad to mark the 2600th birth anniversary of Lord Mahavira. The Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee is the Chairman of the Mahotsav.
