    Shri Krishan Kant, Vice Persident of India has greeted the people on the occasion of ‘Baisakhi’. In a message he has said:

    "On the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, I convey my cordial greetings to the people of India.

    Baisakhi heralds the New Year and coincides with the advent of harvest season. The mood of gaiety and enthusiasm is vividly captured in the varied rituals and festivities of Baisakhi, transcending all barriers, and binding us all in a common brotherhood. This festival assumes both historical and spiritual significance as it was on this day that Guru Gobind Singh established the Khalsa.

    May this occasion bring peace, prosperity and happiness to us all.
