LAMA CHOSPHEL ZOTPA NEW VICE CHAIRMAN OF THE NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR SCs & STs

    Lama Zotpa hails from Zanskar in Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir. He is a renowned Buddhist scholar and has authored ten highly acclaimed books on Buddhism and Himalayan Culture. His contribution for development of backward and tribal communities and promotion of national integration is significant. He is the President of several organisations including Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association, Himalayan Indian Buddhist Student’s Welfare Association and Himalayan Tribal Welfare Society. He is also General Secretary of the Drepung Gomang Ngari Khangtsen Cultural Society, Karnataka and Phukthar Gonpa Cultural & Welfare Society, Zanskar, Ladakh region. Lama Zotpa is also member of the Asian Buddhist Conference for Peace, National Council of Buddhists of India and Central Expert Committee, Department of Culture, Government of India.
