CAMPAIGNS FOR INVESTOR EDUCATION

The Department of Company Affairs (DCA) has authorised the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) to undertake investors awareness campaigns in different parts of the country in the current depressed market conditions through its network of regional offices and chapters to enable people for their judicious investments.

Necessary funds for the investor education campaigns will be disbursed from the Investor Education and Protection Fund, created in the DCA to oversee such campaigns by ICSI and other organizations.

The ICSI is expected to organize a series of workshops all over the country to deliberate on capital market operations, understanding financial disclosures and protecting the investors by educating them. Besides, the ICSI is already in the process of setting up clinics to help investors assess balance sheets and other data of companies and understand matters relating to dematerialization of securities.
