MEDIA ADVISORY FOR INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA COVERAGE AT CAPITOL COMPLEX ,CHANDIGARH  ON 21.6.2016

 

International Day of Yoga is being celebrated at Capitol Complex, Chandigarh on June 21, 2016. Following is the detailed Media Advisory for the media persons covering the event 

 

Access:

 

Entry of Chandigarh based Print and Electronic media to media enclosures will be through Media Passes distributed by DPR UT Chandigarh.

 

Entry of Print and Electronic media from the National, Regional (Other than Chandigarh/Punjab/Haryana) and Foreign Press will be through Media Passes  distributed by PIB Chandigarh

 

Media person must carry PIB Card and/or a valid official photo Identity proof.

 

Media Passes:

 

Media passes only for those journalists who have registered with PIB/DPR, UT of Chandigarh.

 

Media Passes will be issued only to the journalist in person.

 

Media Passes for Chandigarh based Print and Electronic media can be collected from  the office of DPR UT Chandigarh, UT Secretariat, Sector 9A, Chandigarh from10am to 6:00pm. on June 20, 2016.

 

Media Passes for National, Regional (Other than Chandigarh/Punjab/Haryana) and Foreign Press can be collected from PIB camp office at Hotel Shivalik View, Sector 17, Chandigarh between 10 am till 6pm on  June 20, 2016.

 

Non-PIB Foreign media will be issued media passes on production of  passport and J-Visa. 

 

Media Movement:

 

All outstation media persons to assemble at the PIB Camp office, Hotel Shivalik View, Sector 17, Chandigarh  by 3:30 a.m. on June 21, from where they will be ferried to the venue in designated Media buses.

 

All local media persons to assemble at UT Chandigarh Secretariat, Sector 9A, Chandigarh  by 3:30 a.m. on June 21, from where they will be ferried to the venue in designated Media buses.

 

Outstation media can park their vehicle at Hotel Shivalik View, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

 

Media Alighting Point- Punjab and Haryana High Court Chowk, near the venue.

 

No private vehicles are permitted at the venue.

 

Media Entry at the venue will be closed by 5.00 am.

 

The main programme will be over around 8:00 am

 

Buses will be available to ferry back media persons from Tourist Information Centre (near the alighting point) to Hotel Shivalik View, Sector 17, Chandigarh and UT Secretariat, Sector 9A, Chandigarh.

 

Still photographers are advised to carry tele-photo lenses for better coverage.

 

Media Centre:

 

Media Centres with Hi-speed internet and Wi-fi facility are being set up to at the following locations:

i)  Tourist Information Centre, close to venue of the Main Event.

 ii) Hotel Shivalikview, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
