Setting up of Technical Training Institutions
Government has set up 47 Powerloom Service Centres (PSCs) across the
country in major Powerloom clusters for providing technical training and
service support to Powerloom weavers
Government has set up 47 Powerloom Service
Centres (PSCs) across the country in major Powerloom clusters for providing
technical training and service support to Powerloom weavers. Out of these 6
PSCs are functioning in Gujarat and 3 are in Madhya Pradesh. The jurisdiction
of those PSCs may extend beyond a District. A State-wise list of Powerloom
Service Centres is given at Annexure-I.
In
the Handloom Sector, there are six Indian Institutes of Handloom
Technology (IIHTs) and 27 Weavers Service Centres (WSCs) in the country
details of which are enclosed at Annexure-II.
