NCC DELEGATION RETURNED FROM SRILANKA

A seven-member delegation including an officer and six cadets visited Srilanka from Oct 15 to Oct 22, 2003. During their stay the cadets participated in Henman Laos and De Zoysa Trophy competition. The cadets also visited Sri Lanka National Cadet Corps (NCC) headquarters, NCC Battalion Military Academy besides places of tourist and academic interests.

The delegation led by Col RR Ghadkary including Seargent Parul Bhauguna, PO Cadet Jashan Dhaliwal, Corporal Siddharth Shukul, Commandant Sandeep S Risain, Commandant Mehra Priya and Seargent Abhishek Sharma. The member of the delegation called on DGNCC Lt Gen BK Bopanna in New Delhi today. Lt Gen Bopanna commended the role of Cadets as young ambassadors of India, spreading the message of international understanding.

NCC has an ongoing youth exchange programme with Sri Lanka since 1971 under which cadets from the both the countries visited each other to participate in various activities.
