CANCELLATION OF SHATABDI EXPRESSES


The Ministry of Railways has decided to cancel three Shatabdi Expresses on Bareilly-New Delhi, Bhatinda-New Delhi and Tata-Hawrah routes due to poor patronization during the current financial year 2002-2003.

Introduction and cancellation of trains including Shatabdi Expresses is an ongoing process subject to pattern of traffic, operational feasibility and availability of resources.

Added to this, the Government is not maintaining train-wise profitability. It is in this context that names of loss making Shatabdi Expresses is not available.
