The Government has proposed to computerise the Akashwani Kendras to enable them to perform better. The proposed expenses likely to be incurred on each of the kendras/offices would be Rs. 70 lakh for Zonal Office Rs. 3.00 lakh for big station and Rs. 1.5 lakh for small station. The proposal is expected to be implemented within a year.

This was stated by the Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad in reply to a question by Shri Ramdas Athawale in Lok Sabha today.
