25,536 FLATS ALLOTTED BY DDA
Delhi Development
Authority (DDA) has constructed 20,682 flats of different categories
during the last three years (2000-01 to 2002-03). Of these 12,796
flats are of Janta category, 2188 of LIG, 2305 of MIG and 3393
of HIG category.
During the same
period DDA allotted 25,536 flats. At the time of allotment, earlier
vacant or cancelled flats are also included in the offer/draw
list. Out of the total a maximum number of 13,741 flats were allotted
during the year 2002-03. In 2001-02 DDA allotted 7,580 flats while
4,215 flats of various categories were allotted in 2000-01. 12,310
flats of different categories were lying unsold as on 31.3.2003.
This was stated
by the Minister of State for Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation
Shri Pon. Radhakrishnan in written reply to a question of Shri
Naresh Puglia in Lok Sabha today. In reply to a related question
of Shri Virendra Kumar, the Minister informed that this year DDA
has launched housing scheme for allotment of flats to Central/State
Government Departments/Public Sector Undertakings of Government
of India, Autonomous, Statutory bodies and Banks. Narela Housing
Scheme, 2003 has also been launched for allotment of Janta/LIG/MIG
flats. About 8,045 Janta flats have been offered to the Employees
Provident Fund (EPF) organization/Ministry of Labour for allotment
under Shramik Awas Yojana to EPF subscribers.
