BHEL has developed
"Controlled Shunt Reactor" and put it into normal operation
on the Itarsi-Jabalpur 400KV line of Power Grid Corporation of
India Limited (PGCIL)/Itarsi.
BHEL has applied
for patent in India and is in the process of filing the patent
for "Controlled Shunt Reactor" in foreign countries,
namely Russia, Brazil, Turkey and Iran.
This information
was given by Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Minister of State for Heavy
Industries and Public Enterprises in a written reply to a question
by Shri Y.V. Rao in Lok Sabha today
