LOK SABHA
Two high-speed interceptor
boats built by M/s ABG Shipyard were extensively tested by the
Coast Guard for ascertaining their speed vis-à-vis the
approved design specifications. These boats achieved the desired
speed during trials. Induction of these boats would help the Coast
Guard in the performance of its functions such as patrolling,
search, rescue, interdiction of offending vessels, etc.
This information
was given by the Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes in a written
reply to Shri Punnu Lal Mohale in Lok Sabha today.
