LOK SABHA
In Orissa, a number
of small deposits of precious and semi-precious stones have been
discovered. These include Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Topaz and Garnet.
Geological Survey
of India in collaboration with Orissa Mining Corporation have
done investigations for exploration in the districts of Bolangir,
Kalahandi, Koraput, Subarnapur, Sambalpur and Rayagada.
The above information
was given by Minister of State for Coal and Mines Shri Ravi Shankar
Prasad in Lok Sabha today.
