Vice President Shri
Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today inaugurated an Exhibition on school-cum-cyclone
shelters in Orissa. On this occasion, Shri Shekhawat released
a book on the Orissa Rehabilitation Project. He also watched the
audio-visual presentation in the Auditorium. The Audio-visual
presentation-cum-Photo Exhibition has been organized in the Parliament
House Annexe . Many dignitaries including the Ministers and leaders
of the political parties were present during the opening ceremony
of the exhibition.
In the wake of
the Orissa super cyclone of 29th-30th October,
1999, Dr. (Smt.) Najma Heptulla, Deputy Chairman Rajya Sabha had
requested Members of Rajya Sabha to contribute Rs. 10 lakhs from
their MPLADS funds for the rehabilitation works. 79 Members of
Rajya Sabha from different States responded by contributing for
the construction of school-cum-cyclone shelters in the different
districts of Orissa.
The Exhibition
will continue for three days.
