JAN SHATABDI TRAINS - NEW DEFINITION OF PASSENGER COMFORTS IN THE 150TH YEAR

    As Indian Railways enter the 150th year on April 16 this year, it will be adding a new chapter to its customer- care service by introducing the first of the 16 inter-city service trains named Jan Shatabdi trains announced in the Railway Budget 2002-2003. The first Jan Shatabdi (Mumbai-Madgaon) will be flagged off by the Railway Minister Shri Nitish Kumar from Lok Manya Tilak Terminus (Kurla) on this day. These trains will have most of the characteristics of the current Shatabdi Express trains and will also have specially designed second class Chair Car accommodation. The coaches specially designed by the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai will have the following features to ensure passenger comfot:
