POLYURETHANE ATHLETIC TRACK MATERIAL ARRIVES FROM GERMANYWORK ON RELAYING OF THE TRACK AT JAWAHARLAL NEHRU STADIUM TO BEGIN TOMORROW
The Polyurethane Athletic Track material to be laid at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium has arrived, giving a filip to the work on the infrastructure front for the inaugural Afro-Asian Games to be held in Delhi from November 3rd to 11th, 2001.The polyurethane athletic track material has been imported from BSW - a German Company and work on relaying of the track will begin tomorrow. The sub-base of the track has already been completed and German technicians will now start work on the relaying of the synthetic track. The work on the track will be completed in about 20 days. The Polyurethane track is an advanced variety of athletic surface as it has more cushioning effect, which will help athletes give better performances.
The Sportilux Hockey Track, imported from Desso DLW, Netherlands, will arrive in Delhi shortly and thereafter, laying work will start at the National Stadium. The base for laying the hockey track is also ready, and the main hockey turf would be ready within a fortnight after the work commences.
