        Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd. exceeded target production during October 2001 in respect lignite, power generation and power export.

        The overburden removal was 27 per cent above the target of 82 lakh cubic metric (LM3) and the actual overburden removal was 104.14 LM3 during October 2001. Lignite production was 14.62 LT i.e 12.46 per cent more than the target of 13 LT. Power generation was 35.03 per cent more than the target. Power generated was 1132.87 Million Units. Power export during the month was over by 38.44 per cent. The target was 677 MU and actual export of power was 937.27 MU.

        The total outstanding dues of Coal India Limited from all sectors of consumers as on Oct. 20, 2001 were Rs.6030.60 crores. The dues of Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited on account of sale of power, outstanding from the State Electricity Boards as on 31.10.2001 were Rs. 2,642.55 crores.
