RESERVATION AND PROMOTION OF TRIBAL LANGUAGES/CULTURE
The Union Government propose to preserve and promote the tribal languages and culture in the country.The Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Research and Training supplements the efforts of State Governments to preserve and promote the Tribal Culture and provides for financial assistance on 50:50 basis. In addition, the Scheme of Education Complexes in Low Literacy Pockets provides for 100% financial assistance and enjoins upon the grantee institutions to impart coaching to the Tribal girl students from class I to III in local tribal dialects only to preserve and promote tribal languages and culture.
A number of schemes have been sanctioned for the development of tribals in the field of health, employment and education sectors.
This information was given by the Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram in a written reply to a question from S/Shri Ananta Nayak and Abdul Rashid Shaheen in the Lok Sabha today.
