INQUIRY INTO IRREGULARITIES COMMITTED BY COMPANIES
Inspections under Section 209A of the Companies Act, 1956 are part of the regular activities of the Department, and are ordered from time to time.
In the current financial year, inspection of 173 companies has been ordered upto September, 2001. Irregularities committed, if any, by the companies may, or may not, have financial implications.
This information was given by the Union Minister of Law, Justice and Company Affairs, Shri Arun Jaitley in a written reply to a question S/Shri Ram Jethmalani and Rajiv Ranjan Singh "Lalan" in the Rajya Sabha today.
