FCI FILES APPEAL WITH APPELLATE AUTHORITY FOR INDUSTRIAL AND FINANCIAL RECONSTRUCTION AGAINST BIFR ORDER

        The Fertilizer Corporation of India (FCI) has filed an appeal with the Appellate Authority for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction against the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) order dated November 02, 2001. FCI was referred to BIFR under the Sick Industrial Companies (Special Provisions) Act, 1985 and was declared sick by the BIFR in November 1992. The BIFR has forwarded its opinion for winding up of the Corporation in terms of Section 20 (1) of the Act to the Delhi High Court vide its order dated November 02, 2001.

        FCI is a Central Public Sector Undertaking with units at Sindri in Jharkhand, Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, Ramagundam in Andhra Pradesh and Talcher in Orissa, in addition to the Jodhpur Mining Organisation in Rajasthan.
