FUNDS RELEASED FOR RURAL WATER SUPPLY FOR ANDHRA PRADESH, NAGALAND AND TAMIL NADU

       Ministry of Rural Development has released an amount of Rs.16.71 crore to the State Government of Andhra Pradesh towards restoration of the amount deducted from first instalment of funds during 2001-2002 under the centrally sponsored Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP). The deduction is made on account of MNP expenditure shortfall during 1999-2000. The release is being made for execution/completion of schemes to provide safe drinking water facilities to rural habitations and schools under ARWSP.

        An amount of Rs.39.78 crore has been released to the TWAD Board, Chennai towards the second instalment of funds under ARWSP. The provisional allocation is Rs.79.56 crore during 2001-2002 for execution/completion of schemes to provide safe drinking water facilities to rural habitation schemes. Ministry has also released an amount of Rs.2.5 lakh to TWAD Board, Chennai towards monitoring and investigation units for the year 2001-2002.

        Ministry has released Rs.654 lakh to the State Government of Nagaland towards the second instalment of funds under ARWSP against the provisional allocation for rural water supply programme of Rs.1308 lakh during 2001-2002. An amount of Rs.13.81 lakh has also been released to Nagaland Government towards monitoring and investigation units for the year 2001-2002.
