HIGHEST BAUXITE PRODUCTION BY NALCO SINCE INCEPTION
Production of bauxite by NALCO during the month of October 2001 was 3,95,268 MT exceeding the monthly target of 3,10,000 MT. The bauxite production is the highest monthly production since inception exceeding the previous highest of 3,65,943 MT achieved in December 1998. The cumulative production for the year has been 16,99,315 MT as against the target of 18,70,000 MT.
The monthly targets during the month of October were also exceeded in respect of Aluminium, Power Generation, Almina export, Domestic Aluminium sale and sales turn over. The production of Aluminium was 19,692 MT against the target of 19,500 MT. The power generation was 351.25 MU against the target of 348 MU.
The Almina export during the month was 75,051 MT against the target of 35000 MT and domestic Aluminium sale was 10,003 MT as against the target of 8,250 MT. The sales turn over during the month was 211.56 crore against the target of 187.12 crore. Export earnings were 114.81 crore against the target of 108.07 crore. The profit before tax achieved by NALCO during the month stood at 58.80 crore.
NALCO has bagged the best exporter of Orissa Award for the year 2000-01. The award was received by Shri S.D Chouharia, ED (S&P), from Shri K.V Singh Deo, Industries Minister of Orissa at a function at Bhubaneswar on October 6, 2001.
