NCC TEAM RETURNS FROM BHUTAN

A delegation of NCC Cadets comprising of six boys and six girls which returned from Bhutan on 15th of this month, called on Lt Gen BK Bopanna, DG NCC here today. The team visited Bhutan on an invitation from Government of Bhutan under the Youth Exchange Programme. This was a maiden visit by NCC cadets from India to Bhutan as hitherto only Bhutanese Cadets used to come to India during Republic Day Camp every year.

During their stay in Bhutan the Cadets participated in a number of activities/events like group discussions, visit to DBS tower/memorial Chorten and Zorig Chosum, Punakha Dzong, Folk Heritage Museum, Celebrations of His Majesty’s birthday at Changlimthang ground and hike to Tangu and Cheri. The visit has further strengthened Indo-Bhutanese ties and also exposed the Indian Cadets to the rich cultural heritage of Bhutan.

Lt Gen Bopanna welcomed back the Cadets and lauded their efforts in bringing glory to the country. The Cadets gave a brief account of their experience to the DG NCC.
